Pearl Abyss Q3 2020 financial report

Pearl Abyss  has published  its financial report for the third quarter of 2020. It features the company’s two main franchises – Black Desert and EVE online, but also mentions future projects – DokeV, the online shooter Plan 8 and, of course, the future MMORPG with a strong focus on the story component of Crimson Desert.

From the report it became known that now the revenue is roughly equally distributed between the mobile platform (Black Desert Mobile), which previously dominated, and the main version of Black Desert on PC. The console version brought in only 10% of all revenue this quarter. It is likely that the next quarter will show a significant increase in the console version due to the release of the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, which support the game perfectly.

Pearl Abyss plans to show Crimson Desert gameplay in December. In addition, an online meeting with Black Desert players will soon be held, where they will discuss the current state of the game and user questions. Recall that the company will develop Black Desert and Crimson Desert, and the new MMO will not become a competitor or replacement for Black Desert, because the gameplay in it should be significantly different.
